(ENG) Connect a Docfield Environment to SURFconext

By connecting Docfield to SURFconext, users can securely sign in using Single Sign-On (SSO). In this guide, you will learn how to add the Docfield app and request the connection as a SURFconext administrator.

To configure the connection, you need access to the SURFconext IdP Dashboard. From this dashboard, you can connect applications to your organization. Docfield offers two applications:

• Docfield Production App – for the production environment.
• Docfield Staging App – for the test environment.

Requesting the Connection

Follow the steps below to request a connection with Docfield.

1. Open the SURFconext IdP Dashboard.
2. Search for Docfield or open the desired Docfield app directly.
3. Select Docfield Production and Docfield Staging.
4. Click Sign Up or Connect.
5. Enter the requested information, such as the IT administrator's email address.
6. Submit the request.

After submission, the request is automatically forwarded to the Docfield support team.

After the Request

Once the request has been submitted, the Docfield support team automatically receives a notification via SURFconext. We review the request and typically approve it within one business day. Once the connection is ready, we will contact you so the connection can be tested.

Data Shared by SURFconext with Docfield

SURFconext only shares the information required to allow users to sign in securely to Docfield. This includes:

• the user's name;
• the email address;
• the eduPersonTargetedID, a unique user identifier.

This information is used exclusively for authentication and is processed in accordance with the applicable privacy policy.
