When drafting a document, it may be necessary to add signatures. This ensures that agreements are formally recorded and legally valid. In this guide, you will read step by step how to add signature blocks, set up signers, and ensure a smooth signing process. That way, you can be confident that your document is ready to be signed digitally.

Template with Signatures
When creating a template, you can enable the option “Require signatures for all documents.” Turn on this option if you want to add signature blocks. Have you already created the template without enabling this option? No problem. You can easily adjust this afterwards in the template properties. Click the three dots in the top right corner, go to template properties, and enable the option “Require signatures for all documents.”
Add signature block
After creating the template, you can set it up as you are used to. To add a signature block, follow these steps:
- Click the plus icon (+) below the block where you want to place the signature.
- Choose Signatures from the menu.
You only need to add one signature block, even if multiple people need to sign. In the next step, you'll specify who they are.
Do you want signers to sign in multiple places throughout the document? If so, add additional signature blocks at the desired locations.
Add fields for signers
Within the signature block, you can add additional fields that the signers need to fill in. To do this, click on ‘Add field’ and choose from the list of available options, such as job title or company name. The fields first name, last name, and email address are mandatory and cannot be removed, but you can easily move them within the block.
Add signers
Once you have prepared the document, you can add signers via the 'signers block' above the document. You can add one or multiple signers and set the order in which they must sign the document. When you reach the Signing step later, a notification will automatically appear allowing you to send the invitations. Each signer will then receive an email with a link to the document.
Signing
When you reach the Signing step, a separate block is automatically displayed for each signer. Each block contains the fields that person needs to fill in, such as name, email address, and any additional fields. Signing can be done easily by either placing a signature or typing your name.
