[ENG] Global Smart Fields

Global Smart Fields have the same functionality as regular Smart Fields except that they are available in all templates, rather than just in 1 template. This allows owners to define Smart Fields that are relevant for any type of template at once, rather than having to re-create these fields for every template.

Global Smart Fields can only be created and deleted by Owners. This is, because Global Smart Fields, when created, appear in every template and when removed may therefore affect any template. Editors of a Template can use Global Smart Fields in their templates, however, they can't create new Global Smart Fields or delete existing ones. For Editors of a Document, Global Smart Fields work like any other type of Smart Field and they can fill them with a value when drafting the document.

An overview of what Global Smart Fields do:

• "Global" smart fields are visible in all templates (and documents) in a workspace and can be distinguished by their yellow color.
• When creating a new smart field within a template, an owner user can toggle a “Global smart field” option to make it available across the whole workspace.
• When switching a global smart field “off”, it becomes a regular smart field in all templates where it is used and is removed from all other templates where it is not in use. 
• "Default" smart fields are created by the Docfield team and apply to all workspaces. These default smart fields can't be deleted.
• "Global" and "Default" smart fields can be found on "Settings -> Global smart fields" page which is exclusively available to owners.

Who can use Global Smart Fields:

• Only owners can manage Global Smart Fields, that is create, edit or remove global smart fields.
• All Template Editors can insert new instances of global Smart Fields in Templates or remove instances of Global Smart Fields from Templates.
• All Document Editors can fill the values of Global Smart Fields like they can fill regular smart fields.
